The interior is the crux of the Porta-Home™, but the exterior is no less inspiring. The home's highlight is its rooftop garden, capable of growing plants for beautification and harvest, while the trailer itself takes advantage of emerging legislation supporting tiny houses on wheels.
Outside of the sleepspace is a separate structure for bathing and waste, with water fed by an AWG (atmospheric-water generator) and diverted through a series of pipes and pumps. Gray water irrigates the garden. A series of panels and batteries harnesses solar power. Locking storage cabinets, a sink and propane stovetop, and an area for eating and leisure complete the exterior space.
As the legislation on tiny homes on wheels evolves, so too will the design of our homes. Our porta-home prototype puts forth a compelling argument that micro-living space and infrastructure independence is possible in our city backyards.
